The other day I bought a ceramic cup made by the hands of a cult member. It has bunnies and flowers and a sun on it, the most friendly looking cup I’ve ever seen. It’s my favorite cup. The cult lives on a compound in the rolling hills next to the Hudson River and it is truly beautiful. It looks like American Hogwarts. Sometimes places of worship, no matter how toxic the dogma associated with the religion, is touched by the divine. You can feel it in the air, it feels like walking through ice. I supposed the belief of a higher power on earth can make it real in a way. Cult life seems nice but the women have to wear bonnets and are not allowed to drive and I just could never. I do really like my cup though.
