Poppy fell into gardening on accident. She was extremely uninterested in the natural world for a long time, more of an inside person since childhood, til one day she was taking her trash out and looked at the weeds in her cement covered backyard. She thought the way the sun shone through the leaves was quiet beautiful. Most epiphanies accompany inner turmoil, or periods of great happiness or change, but for Poppy is was really just a random normal day in her normal life. A moment of noticing the world around her changed her life forever. Sometimes it can really. just happen like that: when you’re not looking to change.

After that moment she got to work in her backyard. She created standing planters and grew a massive garden with pollinators and food plants. The next growing season she bought a plot at the local community garden where she has made so many friends and gotten involved with the town horticultural society.
