Ok so let me tell you about my Northern Lights story. I’ve been obsessively checking all the aurora apps I’ve downloaded, and watching a bunch of tiktoks about when and where we would be able to view them. That night I went outside at around 7, right as the sun was setting, and taking pictures. I could see that my phone camera was already picking up pinks and greens, so I texted everyone to look out. As I was standing there a burst of magenta light formed over my head. I could see it with my OPEN EYES. My bare naked EYES. Bright spots formed in streaks that cascaded down towards the horizon, it looks like when you look into a lake from a boat. They moved around the sky, always shifting. The neighbors and their kids came out because we were making a ruckus, and we all just stood there marveling. I feel so lucky to have seen them, and so brightly with my bare naked eyes. I sat out in the yard for hours afterwards, hoping they would come back. They didn’t but now I’m addicted.
