The Three Grey Ladies, or “the sisters”, as they are known locally, have been seen around the village from hundreds of years. Researches believe it is a specialized breed of moth that flock together at twilight, but the people of the town know that these three moths are the same three moths their ancestors saw hundreds of years ago.

The legend is that three sisters lived happily in a house at the edge of town, right on a mica shelf overlooking Longson Creek. They were beloved. They taught foraging and botany to the children, and brought delicious pies to any gathering. Unfortunately one day, one of the sisters became ill. To save her, the other two funneled all their life force into the sick sister, and this act diminished their power. All three turned themselves into moths to conserve energy, and have remained together ever since.
